I have to admit I was a little skeptical at first with the idea that VPS web hosting would be any better than shared hosting. I was a more than pleasantly surprised at what I experienced though. There are some distinct advantages to this type aside from the fact that there is php web hosting features included, which allows for more complex sites to be built.
One of the best aspects is probably the security feature, and yes, this is extremely important, or at least it should be. With so much going on over the internet it can be a little scary. Well, this type of website hosting is much more secure than shared hosting is. Each file system can’t be viewed by any other person who is there so your files are always safe, which is always a nice feeling. This also means that the number of other people on the server can’t affect each other. It doesn’t matter if there are three people there, or 300, the speed doesn’t vary. This is actually a really great feature because we all know the frustration of being slowed down by other users.
There are other advantages, but these, I would say are the ones that impressed me the most.
